Shannon's latest project

Just got back from our trek to San Diego. My Mom (NanNan, a 93-year old mother, grandmother & great grandmother) went along as did Linda. Shan drove down from South Pasadena to spend 5 days with us touring San Diego and Baja, Mexico. Yep, we did go to Mexico. Mom got her first passcard, similar to our passports, but she can only go into Mexico and Canada, not overseas. We enjoyed our time with Shan and touring the San Diego Zoo, Trolley rides, SEAL ride (amphibean ride around town and the bay), Coronada (where the Navy SEALS train), La Jolla (beach time), and lots of good seafood and cheesecake!

Shan had a project in mind for us though in our small motel room. She brought her sewing machine, complete with rotary cutter and mat. She needed a little help finishing the project she started for Mom (her NanNan). And what a project it was for someone who is just beginning to quilt. It's a photo quilt of NanNan and her family.
We think she did quite a good job. If any of you are thinking of starting a photo project, give Shan a call. I'm sure she'll have some dos and don'ts for you!!
